Tanya Okerlund

Provider Bio

Tanya Okerlund is based out of Smethport, PA and is a graduate of The American School of Equine Dentistry as well as The Academy of Equine Dentistry. Her desire to enter the field of Equine Dentistry was driven by her lifelong love of horses and being raised by a horse trader who came across many that she believes would have thrived if only they had proper dental care. She has apprenticed alongside dental greats such as Dr.Goddard and Dr.Richard Miller and achieved certification with the IAED as well as the EDPA. She has served the IAED as a member of the Membership Committee, Social Media Committee and is the writer of the quarterly Newsletters and is the current president of McKean County Fair. Tanya is enthusiastic about Equine Dental education, the importance of continuing education and encouraging positive working relationships between Dental Providers and Veterinarians. In her spare time she enjoys running her boarding business, producing barrel races as well as running barrels and spending time with her husband, Dave.
